Weekend EV trips from Bangkok: there and back on one charge?

Hua Hin, Pattaya, Rayong, Khao Yai and Korat are 150–260 km from Bangkok. Most electric cars get there without a charging stop. The real question is whether you can go there and back on one charge or need to charge at the destination. This guide answers it from our planner's plans for 14 popular models.

The climb to Khao Yai uses more energy than the way down, so the return usually leaves more than the table shows. Friday-evening and Sunday-afternoon traffic adds time but little energy for an EV; air conditioning in a jam uses about 1–2 kW.
Charging at the destination
If the table says charge, the easiest way is a hotel or resort with an AC charger: a full battery overnight. Otherwise use a fast charger in that province:
- Prachuap Khiri Khan: 19 stations (Hua Hin)
- Chon Buri: 79 stations (Pattaya)
- Rayong: 31 stations (Rayong)
- Nakhon Ratchasima: 52 stations (Khao Yai)
Short-break tips
- Leave full. Most weekend trips then need no charging station at all.
- Drive 100–110 km/h rather than 120 and one charge covers the round trip more often; see real highway range.
- Extending the trip (Pattaya on to Rayong, or south from Hua Hin)? Plan again from there with the charge you really have.
